The Department for Education and the Department for Business Innovation and Skills (BIS) are now striving to push up standards and make apprenticeships more attractive to employers to help UK plc to compete effectively in the global market.
This presents a number of challenges:
Working in conjunction with Cap Gemini, the National Apprenticeship Service (NAS) and many UK Colleges, Kaonix has developed a software tool that enables Colleges, Councils and Training Providers to manage their apprenticeship recruitment using a simple web-based recruitment system. Apprenticeships can be advertised quickly and easily on multiple media including NAS, social media, the College's own web-site and also send them at the same time to supply chain partners. Applications are then managed through a bespoke application process and can be scored against the key criteria for the role, quickly identifying individuals who meet the requirements saving the recruiter the time and effort of having to read through hundreds of unsuitable CVs.
Once the short-listed candidates have been selected, the system sends the details directly to the hiring manager who can then review, accept/reject and schedule interviews. All unsuccessful applicants are retained in a talent-pool which enables them to be automatically matched to future opportunities as well as being contacted with regard to wider relevant training courses, benefiting not only the candidates but also providing a source of potential learners for additional funding.
